The second edition of the Salbek Opera Festival Series Dinner, organized by the Castel Salbek Association, took place at the M Art Museum in Bucharest at the end of September. The evening’s program featured an extraordinary recital by soprano Anastasia Türköz, baritone Cristian Ruja, and pianist Liana Mareș.
Guests enjoyed arias and duets from the works of Charles Gounod (Roméo et Juliette), Giuseppe Verdi (Un ballo in maschera), Giacomo Puccini (La Bohème), Gioachino Rossini (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Gherase Dendrino (Lăsaţi-mă să cânt), and Franz Lehár (Die lustige Witwe). The event also included a silent auction of glass artworks created by students from university centers in Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest.
“The Salbek Opera Festival Series Dinner at M Art Museum was an opportunity to bring talented young artists into the spotlight and to demonstrate that opera can be presented in diverse, accessible, and relevant contexts. We believe that supporting these musicians is essential for the future of the Romanian operatic stage,” said Ana Maria Mihăescu, President of the Castel Salbek Association.
The Salbek Opera Festival Series Dinner is part of the affiliated projects of the Salbek Opera Festival, which aims to promote opera music and support young artists.
